Compliance Officer - KYC AML, CDB 20 – Contract/Freelance – Zurich, Switzerland

Start: ASAP - 1-2 month notice
Duration: 12 months
Location: Zurich, Switzerland – 1 day WFH per week
Language: Fluency in English is mandatory; additional languages such as Russian, French, or German are a plus.

Key Responsibilities:
Client File Review: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies, taking remedial action as necessary.
Comprehensive Compliance Analysis: Provide recommendations regarding existing clients, including PEP and high-risk accounts for individuals and legal entities.
KYC Assessments: Evaluate accuracy, completeness, and plausibility of KYC information, including source of wealth, flow of funds, tax compliance, and risk classification to ensure adequate risk mitigation by the Front Office.
Advisory Support: Assist the Front Office on matters related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), and the Swiss banks' code of conduct in the context of due diligence (CDB 20) and other Compliance matters relevant to the periodic review.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with various stakeholders as necessary.
Suspicious Activity Escalation: Report potentially suspicious activities to the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU).

Additional Responsibilities:
- Propose improvements to processes, systems, and policies; participate in workshops or projects.
- Share knowledge and best practices within the Compliance team, prepare business cases, and conduct training for the Front Office.
- Support the Compliance team with other tasks as needed.

Job Description:
This role within the Compliance Department offers a broad scope, focusing on wealth management, boutique corporate and institutional business, intermediaries, and corporate matters. The primary responsibility is conducting periodic KYC reviews while supporting the Compliance department in various day-to-day activities, depending on skills, experience, and resource availability. This role is pivotal in the journey towards digital Compliance and perpetual KYC, utilizing a tailor-made review platform with high automation and structured data to sustainably enhance KYC and data quality.

The Compliance team comprises of a small/compact team with diverse intercultural and interdisciplinary backgrounds, committed to fostering a sustainable Compliance culture and promoting the bank's core values.

Skills and Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
- University degree in business administration, economics, law, or similar field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Compliance within the financial industry (Wealth Management and/or Corporate Finance) in Switzerland.
- Sound knowledge of financial products and markets.
- Proficiency in MS Office products.

Personal Skills:
- Strong relationship and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
