Job Title: Technical Author - Treasury Management Systems (TMS)
Location: London and Jersey (frequent travel required)
Contract Type: Long-term Contract
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Technical Author to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role involves creating, managing, and maintaining comprehensive documentation for our Treasury Management Systems (TMS). The successful candidate will have a strong background in technical writing, particularly within the financial services sector, and the ability to travel between our London and Jersey locations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, write, and update high-quality documentation for Treasury Management Systems, including user manuals, technical guides, and process documentation.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts, developers, and stakeholders to gather information and ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation.
• Translate complex technical concepts and processes into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.
• Maintain and organize documentation repositories, ensuring version control and easy access.
• Review and edit existing documentation to improve clarity, consistency, and usability.
• Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to enhance the effectiveness of documentation.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in technical writing and financial systems.
• Manage documentation projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
• Provide training and support to users on how to effectively utilize documentation.
Essential Skills and Experience:
• Proven experience as a Technical Author, preferably within the financial services or treasury management sector.
• Strong understanding of Treasury Management Systems (TMS) and related financial concepts.
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to translate technical jargon into accessible language for diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in using documentation tools and software, such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and content management systems.
• Strong research and information-gathering skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently between London and Jersey.
Desirable Skills:
• Experience with financial software documentation and regulatory requirements.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working within Agile development teams.
• Knowledge of content management systems and version control tools.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Relevant certifications in technical writing or financial systems are a plus.
