Role Overview: We are looking for a skilled Test Automation Engineer with expertise in backend systems and experience in the banking domain to join our client's team. As a Test Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for setting up a robust test automation framework from scratch to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our banking software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand system requirements and design effective test strategies.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a scalable test automation framework for backend systems in the banking domain.
  • Write clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases to validate system functionality, performance, and security.
  • Automate test cases using industry-standard tools and technologies, such as Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar.
  • Conduct thorough testing of RESTful APIs, databases, microservices, and other backend components.
  • Identify and troubleshoot defects, and work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.
  • Continuously optimize test automation scripts and frameworks to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in test automation, software development methodologies, and the banking industry.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience (X years) as a Test Automation Engineer, preferably in the banking or financial services sector.
  • Solid understanding of backend systems, databases (e.g., SQL, MongoDB), and API testing principles.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git) is a plus.
  • ISTQB or other relevant certifications are desirable but not required.
