Our client are searching for a Network Engineer to join their growing network team based in Sydney CBD. 

The successful incumbent will be required to work on the companies primary and secondary Data Centre and work across the data network infrastructure and application network. 

Data Centre Administration
Provide day to day management of facilities and IT infrastructure within the primary and secondary Data Centres.


Provide support for implementation of infrastructure and project planning within the Data Centres, including the co-ordination and supervision of contractors and suppliers.

Be the primary contact for third parties who are engaged to render a service at the Data Centres. Responsible for the co-ordination of all work carried out at the Data Centre or Third party staff.

Capacity planning at the Data Centres for space, power, cooling, fibre and Ethernet connectivity.

Maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) asset registry for all equipment residing at the Data Centres.
Network Administration


Manage and participate in projects as required by the business, Test and benchmark converged/data network infrastructure and application network impact to ensure network performance is adequate to meet the needs of all offices/branches.

Maintain good working relationship with all providers of Telecommunications services.

Develop processes and structures for Service Providers to meet Service Level Agreements.

Design, develop and maintain a stable network infrastructure (Core & Edge) consistent with the corporate goal of 99.9% availability.
Relevant Tertiary qualification desired
CCNA and 3 years in LAN/WAN troubleshooting experience.
Experience with the use of remote network management and monitoring tools highly regarded.
Experience in managing converged network services highly regarded


Good knowledge of banking and finance from IT Perspective

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in technical and business areas.

Ability to identify user requirements and develop solutions and manage business expectations through accurate assessments of services required and timely delivery.

Ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external clients.
Networking
WAN and LAN network design, implementation and maintenance for the VoIP infrastructure
ASA Firewall design and support for converged services.
In depth knowledge of Nexus and Cisco Catalyst products plus vendors including F5, Juniper, Checkpoint.
Innovative and keep up to date with Emerging Technologies.
 
Vendor Management
Vendor Management (Ordering, Billing, and Maintaining relations with Service Providers, Cabling Vendors)
 
Data Centre Management
Knowledge of industry Data Centre standards. Racks, cabling, capacity management.
Data Centre tooling and environment monitoring.
