For our client in the R&D industry we are looking for experimental physicists
Duration: at least a year (option on perm)
The Department is responsible for development of printing (imaging) processes and consumable materials (inks, toners, printheads) to be applied in innovative print systems.
The quality of prints in inkjet printing is dependent on all components that are used in the printer (inks, printheads, paper type, image processing, drying technology, etc.). Changes in one of the components usually require changes in the other components as well to optimize the print quality. For a new to develop printer, which contains modifications to basically all components, we are looking for a person that by means of experiments can find the interactions between the different components.
To expand two teams of Physicists within this project we are looking for: 1 Experimental Physicists (Master level) and 1 Experimental Tester/Physicist (Bachelor)
Experimentalists, self reliant and communicative! Candidate will work in small teams of Physics Researchers in a large R&D project.
The following tasks are part of the job: · Make prints with different settings to find the effect on print quality. A test setup (printer prototype) is available for making the prints. · Investigate how the quality of the prints can be optimized by adapting printer component settings. · Find the range of settings at which the print quality is good (finding the operating range for the printer settings). · Describing the experiments and the results in a report. · Discuss the results with relevant stakeholders (mainly the teams that realize the different printer components) in order to improve the different printer components and the overall level of print quality. For this job it is important to build up knowledge on the interaction between the different printer components and their combined impact on print quality. The job will start with an assignment to investigate a specific print quality issue and the impact of printhead settings on this issue.
Who are we looking for? · have a MSc or a BSc in (Applied) Physics (depending on the vacancy) · 0 up to 5 years of work experience as Researcher, Quality Engineer or Tester within a high-tech Industry, in a high-tech product development environment
· have the following professional skills: experimentalist, affinity with data analysis and preferably some programming experience (MatLab, Python) · are strong team players, result driven, self reliant and have strong communicative skills have profound knowledge - verbal and written - of English, Dutch language is preferred.
Michael Bailey International is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
