Application Support Officer - Initial 3 months - Melbourne CBD
The Application Systems Support Officer is a multi-skilled position which delivers systems administration and support for Corporate Applications.
Specifically the position:
• Performs systems and database administration tasks to ensure the integrity, currency and reliable operation of Corporate Applications.
• Undertakes scheduled systems, and applications maintenance tasks in accordance with approved Change Management practices.
• Provides application support through monitoring the applications related helpdesk call queue and resolving the calls logged.
• Assists in the documentation of policies and procedures for Corporate Applications
Required Skills, Competencies and Experience:
Tertiary qualifications in computing or relevant discipline.
MS SQL database administration experience (qualifications preferred - MCSA 2008/2012
A solid understanding of Windows Server 2008 environments
Practical experience in supporting and administering application software.
Excellent communication skills including active listening, negotiation and influencing with a demonstrated commitment to customer service.
Sound usage of Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, Project)
Proven experience writing technical documentation and procedures
Proven analytical and problem solving capabilities with a commitment to continuous improvement. Desirable
Awareness of web applications and technologies (eg: .Net and ASP)
An understanding of mobility solutions and location based services.
An understanding of Change Management as it applies to IT systems and processes.
An understanding of IT Project Management processes.
