In this initial 12 month contract you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a diverse team of developers. This role requires a hands on Development Manager who is also able to assist with solution design, code reviews whilst also having the technical ability to support the team at any time whilst also having the skills to manage stakeholders.
  
Key Responsibilities and Tasks

Lead a diverse team of developers, creating a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement:

Escalation point for issue resolution.

Bethe key point of accountability for a range of technology platforms and services including:

CMS and eCommerce Platform

Continuous Integration services and platforms

AWS Platform

Define and maintain strategic roadmaps for the platforms / services within your domain which support both technology and business strategy, including:

By employing a consultative technologist approach, contribute to strategies across the broader Digital business and technology domains and technology in general;

Manage/ operate technology platforms to ensure they are highly available, resilient and scalable;

Interaction with a broad range of senior stakeholders across the business and technology;

Integration with a number of other platforms managed by other technology teams;

Managing conflicting priorities;

Championing Agile work practices;

Ensuring a quality outcome and achieving business objectives

Be recognised as the domain expert relating to your platforms and services by maintaining a deep understanding of industry trends, vendor roadmaps and relevant case studies;

Act as the primary point of contact for critical customer impacting operations incidents relating to your platforms;

Create, lead and drive a professional culture and working environment that is based on the premise that happy and engaged people are essential to the success  
Key Knowledge and Experience

Proven leadership qualities with a collaborative engagement style and capability to manage and develop a highly effective and diverse technology team

Strong ability to maintain consultative/participative processes with key stake holders within your Domain and across relevant domains both internal and external to the organisation

Ability to set clear direction and manage complex, matrix organisations for aligned operations

Proven ability to manage process effectively, maximising value and minimising waste

Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to easily develop new relationships with suppliers and colleagues and to influence and impact from front-line to GM-level

Demonstrated capability to attract, develop and retain the right talent for now and in the future

Proven and demonstrated experience and delivery within the digital domain

Comprehensive skills and experience in identifying, researching, evaluating and recommending new and emerging technologies.

Strong hands-on technical problem solving abilities

Strong focus on Operational Stability and demonstrated skills in aiding Operational teams

Advanced knowledge of Continuous Delivery practices with a solid background in software engineering encompassing agile engineering practices and continuous delivery;

Understanding of networking and digital security concepts and practices

Experience with Mobile delivery including mobile application development and responsive design;

Understanding of UX Design principles and experience with customer journeys and storyboards;
