The London team takes a swing at Top Golf!
Our London team rounded off their summer by heading to Top Golf, Chigwell for an afternoon of fun point-scoring golf games!
In order to ensure the Londoners got the most out of this team-building activity, they were split into four teams of five each with a mix of ability and job role. The teams were assigned to their own bay where they could select clubs to putt with, collect micro-chipped golf balls that recorded points, and keep track of who was wining with an interactive scoreboard.
Unlike traditional golf, the aim of this game was to hit the golf balls into specific targets on the driving range. The farther away the target, the more points were accumulated!
Whilst some of the team were completely new to the sport, others had played the odd round or two before. Whatever their ability, this activity proved to be a unique golfing experience for both the intermediate and amateur players.
Placing employees of different levels of skill together meant that individuals were able to create or strengthen existing bonds with their fellow colleagues. Staff who had never even hit a ball quickly gained confidence once they had been given a few pointers by those with a little more golfing know-how.
Like most team-building events, there was an aspect of healthy competition and banter amongst the teams.
“Being put into mixed teams with colleagues I don’t usually come across at work was a great way to get to know everyone. It was interesting to see how the whole team worked together in a new environment. It’s also a fantastic way to pick up a new skill and learn something new about your work mates” Gemma Parkes, Marketing Assistant.
The Londoners tucked into a hearty meal of burgers and fries during their break, and ended the day with a well deserved beer.
