We have a current opportunity for a Azure Backup & Recovery Specialist (m/w/d) on a contract basis.

Remote
Volume: 24 hours per week

We are seeking an Azure Backup & Recovery Specialist to support a project focused on mission critical applications. Many of these applications lack documented backup plans. The goal is to assess the current backup environment, define a target state, perform a gap analysis, and ensure recovery plans meet business continuity requirements. The role will be delivered within an agile framework with work organized in sprints.

Tasks:
Assess and document existing Azure backup infrastructure, policies, and tools
Inventory critical assets including code, data, secrets, identities, and Azure configurations
Review and improve backup and disaster recovery procedures, ensuring alignment with RTO and RPO requirements
Conduct risk and compliance assessments, including immutability needs and regulatory standards (GDPR, HIPAA)
Define the target state for backup and recovery in Azure, including architecture, processes, and security measures
Configure and optimize Azure Backup and Site Recovery solutions
Perform gap analyses and propose improvements for backup and disaster recovery strategies
Test and validate recovery processes and monitor backup performance
Provide training and create clear documentation on backup policies and procedures
Conduct post-implementation reviews and hand over documentation for long-term use

Skills:
Strong expertise with Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery
Experience designing and implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies
Knowledge of compliance standards and best practices for data protection
Ability to work independently in an agile setup and provide clear documentation and training
