Strategic objectives include Customer Focus, Cost Efficiency & Expanding Margins, Sustainable Growth & Entrepreneurial Performance, and ESG Opportunity.We are seeking for a proactive and solutions-driven IT Security & Infrastructure Engineer to enhance its IT infrastructure and cyber security capabilities both onshore and across its global fleet of vessels. As a key member of the international IT team, you will work alongside experienced professionals, including the IT Director, Fleet Support Engineers, and an IT Systems Administrator. Together, you will ensure the seamless operation of IT systems across the fleet. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to work with advanced technologies such as Fortinet network equipment, Dell/HP servers, and satellite systems from brands like JRC, Sailor, Furuno, and Intellian.

What You Will Do

Cyber Security (Shore and Fleet):

  • Shape and enforce IT policies and procedures promoting collaboration across teams ashore (35 persons) and afloat (hundreds of persons).
  • Strengthen network security with tools like firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint protection.
  • Conduct risk assessments, provide awareness training, and lead incident investigations.
  • Review and optimize networks to align with evolving cyber security standards.

Infrastructure Fleet:

  • Initiate and lead IT projects to improve infrastructure and cyber security.
  • Maintain and expand in-house cyber security solutions for the fleet.
  • Provide remote and occasional on-site support for IT systems on board vessels.
  • Maintain ship IT equipment including installations, configurations, upgrades, antivirus protection, backups, and email operation.

Infrastructure — Shore:

  • Enhance office networks.
  • Learn about and implement the latest trends.
  • Support the IT Administrator in maintaining the office network and virtualization platform.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Advanced knowledge of network security.
  • Knowledge of and experience with VMware ESXi, vCenter, Ethernet, LAN/WAN/SDWAN, Firewalls, Routers, Backup systems, Windows operating systems, AD, Mail-server, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Strong problem-solving, time-management, and communication skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and passion for continuous learning.
  • Experience in the maritime industry and with Fortinet equipment, satellite communications, virtualization platforms, Python, Linux, and VoIP is a strong advantage.
