What Your Job Looks Like

A bank without IT? Unimaginable. As an IT Risk Manager, you are indispensable to the bank. What makes your role extra interesting? You work across domains and departments, tackling IT risk in the broadest sense in a constantly evolving environment.

Our client’s organization is on the verge of a major transformation—both in terms of its customer service and its internal structure. Executing the digitalization strategy is a key component of this transformation. As an IT Risk Manager, you actively contribute to a controlled transformation to achieve these goals. You act as a specialist for both employees and management in the relevant departments.

Through assessments, you and your colleagues map out how risk management is applied in business operations, systems, and processes. You investigate how central IT processes are structured and point out potential risks. You also review the effectiveness of control measures. Additionally, you investigate IT incidents. Together with the involved department and IT colleagues, you determine what happened. Was it a one-time or recurring incident? Was the response appropriate, and how can recurrence be prevented? Based on your findings, you advise and support management. To help the organization comply with laws and regulations, you and your colleagues take on both advisory and monitoring roles.

Because IT runs like a thread through the entire bank, you will be involved in many areas. You’ll be in contact with first-line risk managers, process owners, colleagues from process & control, and compliance. From your central position, you help prevent potential problems and promote risk management awareness. Your ultimate goal? To establish and maintain a professional operational risk and control framework that meets the bank’s standards and complies with laws and regulations.

Where You’ll Work

You will join the Risk department. Your team, consisting of about fourteen colleagues, is responsible for second-line operational risk management in areas including IT, a secure payment chain, and customer onboarding/management processes. Because we value regular contact, we meet in the Utrecht office every Thursday. Outside of that, you can choose to work at the office or remotely.

Additionally, You Have:

• A minimum of HBO (higher professional education) level of thinking and working
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience
• Knowledge of the IT domain and relevant IT risk frameworks
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISA, CISM, CRISC)
• Good command of English, spoken and written
