IT Risk & Security Consultant – Identity & Access Management (IAM)

  • Location: Amsterdam (Hybrid: 1 day/week on-site)
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Freelance possible
  • Contract: Until end of year (extension likely)
  • Full-time: 36–40 hours/week

A major financial organization is seeking a skilled IT Risk & Security Consultant with a strong focus on Identity & Access Management (IAM). You will support the IT Risk function by enhancing access governance processes, strengthening control monitoring, and guiding key stakeholders in building a secure and compliant IAM framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and enhance IAM-related risk and control frameworks, policies, and procedures
  • Support the design and implementation of access management controls across the IT landscape
  • Assist in quarterly IT risk assessments and provide actionable recommendations to senior management
  • Monitor, test, and report on IAM controls, and drive remediation activities when needed
  • Provide guidance on control design, regulatory compliance, and IAM best practices
  • Collaborate with engineering squads and leadership to embed IAM risk considerations into daily operation
  • Draft risk acceptances and mitigation plans for IAM-related issues and control gaps
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing evidence and coordinating stakeholder input
  • Help promote IAM awareness and knowledge sharing across teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
  • Experience with IAM governance, access provisioning/deprovisioning, and control testing
  • Knowledge of risk and control frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, or COBIT)
  • IAM audit experience or familiarity with tools such as SailPoint, Azure AD, or CyberArk is a strong advantage
  • Certifications like CISSP, CISA, CRISC, or similar are a plus
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
