IT Security Services Consultant

For one of our clients we are looking for a IT Security Services Consultant in the area of Copenhagen.

Start: February 2026

Duration: Initial 6-month contract, with an option for permanent employment

Location: near Copenhagen DK or Den Bosch NL

The IT Security Services Consultant is responsible for planning, delivering, and governing IT security initiatives while owning the effectiveness and maturity of core security services.

The role combines hands-on IT security project management with security service ownership, operational oversight, and risk-based decision-making, ensuring that cybersecurity initiatives are delivered on time, adopted into operations, and measurably improve the organization’s security posture.

This is a dual-focus role where project delivery and security management carry equal importance

The IT security services consultant will be responsible for delivering projects related to the creation, improvement, and decommissioning of IT security systems, services, and applications.

Main tasks:

• IT Security Project & Change Management (Equal Priority)

o Lead end-to-end delivery of IT security projects, including planning, execution, tracking, and closure.

o Own security project portfolios, covering creation, enhancement, and decommissioning of security systems, services, and controls.

o Develop and maintain detailed project plans, milestones, dependencies, and budgets.

o Ensure scope, quality, timelines, and cost targets are met.

o Manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating where necessary.

o Coordinate internal teams, vendors, and external partners to deliver security solutions.

o Ensure projects transition smoothly into operational security services with clear ownership and documentation.

• Security Service Ownership & Lifecycle Management (Equal Priority)

o Act as service owner for assigned cybersecurity domains.

o Define service scope, success criteria, KPIs, and roadmaps.

o Ensure security services are:

§ Fit for purpose

§ Operationally sustainable

§ Aligned with enterprise risk and compliance requirements

o Manage the full lifecycle of security services: design, implementation, optimization, and retirement.

• Support risk assessments, control reviews, and remediation tracking.

• Ensure security initiatives and services align with: Internal security policies Industry standards (e.g. ISO 27001)

Regulatory requirements (e.g. NIS2, GDPR)

Additional tasks:

• Provide operational support across defined security services as needed, ensuring smooth service delivery.

• Assist in maintaining and enhancing security processes to align with organizational standards and compliance requirements.

• Serve as a liaison between project stakeholders and the security services team to ensure effective integration of security controls into projects."

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
• Prince 2 certification preferred
• Scrum certification desirable
• IT Security education preferred
• OT Security experience is required
• Any Cybersecurity certificate such as CISM, etc.
• 5 years minimum of experience in Cybersecurity
• Experience in IT Security support and consulting
• Project management specifically within IT security projects
• In depth familiarity with project management frameworks, particularly Prince 2
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
• Experience as a program manager/multi project manager desirable
• Good understanding of IT and information security
• Knowledge of cloud concepts
• Knowledge of the Microsoft 365 product line
• Familiarity with information security risk management principles on a high level such as ISO 27xxx
• Ability to work with an international team of experts
