QA Test Engineer

IT QA Test engineer (SDET) Java : selenium Banking : contract. London. MUST have strong Java and strong selenium scripting along with banking / financial services.

Initially there will be lots of discussion to learn and understand the automation testing environment:
You will work on gap analysis.
You will be designing the IT QA (SDET) across multiple stakeholders and project.
There will be lots of requirements gathering from multiple groups and you will be expected to understand and push, lead these. We need someone with problem experience of this.
Once the first 2/3 months are done it will be more or less 50/50% Manuel and automation Testing.
Regression testing: review and see if it is fit for purpose:
Functional testing: you build this from scratch and you will be an expert at this.
Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, scaling , maintaining and executing automated test scripts to ensure the quality and reliability of our software products, in addition the candidate must have good analytical skill to be involved in the design phase of projects , create test scenarios from requirements and test the product integrity. This role required a strong background in software development, test automation framework and a passion for delivering high quality software solutions.
Key Responsibilities (4yrs+)
•Collaborate with cross functional teams to understand software requirements and develop comprehensive test plans and test cases.
•Design, develop and maintain automated test scripts using industry standard tools and framework.
•Continuously research and evaluate new testing technologies . tools and methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness
•Contribute to the overall improvement of the software development process by advocating for best practices in testing and quality assurance
•Develop custom tools and integrate with existing tools to increase engineering productivity.
•Ensure the quality, security, reliability, and compliance of our solutions by testing both functional and non-functional requirements.
•Coordinate test activities front to back within the pod and across with other test managers, where required.
•Enable & drive a culture of “automation-first” in the QA space
•Create and maintain automation scripts and enhance existing scripts
•Hands on with automation testing for conducting multilayers testing of desktop, web applications, data services, micro services, database, ETL, cloud service-based application, middleware and OS.
•Perform in-sprint automation testing and build a regression test suite.
•Comprehensive analysis of any errors found using logs, database queries, legacy and unix file system, etc.
•Expert in complete test and defect management lifecycle across agile and waterfall methodologies and tools
•Generate test reports and status to be shared across multiple levels
•Have worked on a large scale migration project for a financial institution's core platform
•Strong proficiency in programming language such as Java
•Experience with test automation framework such as Selenium, cucumber or similar BDD framework.
•Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
