Senior Azure DevOps Engineer / Bern, Switzerland

Native or fluent German (Swiss German preferred) is mandatory

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Azure DevOps Engineer to join a leading technology and cloud services organisation based in Bern, Switzerland.

The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and automated cloud infrastructure environments. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level engineer who is passionate about cloud technologies, automation, and DevOps best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to support automated build, testing, and deployment processes
• Ensure high availability, security, performance, and scalability of cloud environments
• Support both cloud-native and hybrid infrastructure solutions
• Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot Linux and Windows environments
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions
• Apply DevOps best practices related to automation, version control, and continuous improvement
• Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making
• Support incident management, root-cause analysis, and service optimisation
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to technical standards and documentation

Required Experience

• Proven experience as a Senior DevOps Engineer or Azure DevOps Engineer
• Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure
• Extensive experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code methodologies
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet or similar technologies
• Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins
• Solid Linux and/or Windows Server administration skills
• Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python or similar)
• Experience with Git and version control best practices
• Good understanding of cloud security, networking, and governance
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and deployment issues
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field

Desirable Skills

• Microsoft Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-700, AZ-900, DevOps Engineer Expert)
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKS)
• Knowledge of secret management and configuration management practices
• Experience working within enterprise-scale or regulated environments
• Exposure to Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and practices
