Senior Network Engineer (Cisco SDA / ACI Focus)

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer with strong expertise in Cisco Software-Defined Access (SDA) and Cisco ACI to join the infrastructure team of a global enterprise organization. This role combines hands-on operational support with the opportunity to drive automation and continuous improvement across a modern, large-scale networking environment.

Start: Mid October
Duration: 3 years contract
Location: Basel & hybrid - up to 50% - candidates must be based in Switzerland, even for the remote work 

You will work with a range of advanced networking technologies — including Cisco SDA, ACI, Infoblox, Checkmk, Palo Alto, and F5 — ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of critical infrastructure.

Tasks:

Provide operational support for enterprise networking systems, ensuring seamless daily operations.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues in Cisco SDA and Infoblox environments.

Implement and automate advanced networking solutions, with a strong SDA focus.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver robust network services.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of network monitoring and management tools (Checkmk, Grafana, Prometheus).

Participate in an on-call rotation (approximately every six weeks).

Support enterprise-grade platforms including Palo Alto firewalls, F5 load balancers, Cisco ACI, and ISE.

Skills:

Strong hands-on experience with Cisco SDA and Infoblox (DNS, DHCP, IPAM)
Good knowledge of Cisco ACI and ability to implement/automate solutions
Familiarity with Checkmk (or Grafana/Prometheus)
Experience with wireless networking and troubleshooting in enterprise environments
Exposure to Palo Alto, F5, and Cisco ISE is a plus
Fluent English (spoken & written), excellent communication & collaboration skills
Ability to thrive in a global, enterprise-scale IT environment
