Project Overview

For an international supply chain transformation initiative, we are looking for an experienced SAP ATP Consultant to support a Process Excellence program focused on end-to-end supply chain execution processes.

The project aims to optimize and standardize warehouse execution processes across a global SAP landscape by enhancing ATP (Available-to-Promise), backorder processing, delivery creation, shipment planning, and related execution activities. The consultant will analyze existing SAP processes, identify complexity drivers, document current solutions, and develop recommendations for process harmonization and governance.

This assignment focuses exclusively on the optimization of the existing SAP environment. No new applications, interfaces, or technologies will be introduced.

Responsibilities

• Analyze the current SAP ATP and Backorder Processing landscape, including custom developments, enhancements, user exits, and region-specific solutions

• Reverse engineer existing ATP-related processes and custom programs to understand business and technical logic

• Assess ATP behavior during sales order creation, confirmation, and rescheduling processes

• Identify plant-specific and regional configurations impacting ATP functionality

• Analyze program interactions, data flows, technical dependencies, and supporting processes

• Evaluate options for temporarily disabling ATP checks during order creation while maintaining order processing capabilities

• Identify process inefficiencies, complexity drivers, and areas for standardization

• Develop recommendations for harmonized ATP, delivery creation, shipment planning, and supply chain execution processes

• Define governance principles, operational standards, and best practices

• Create comprehensive technical documentation and deliver knowledge transfer sessions to internal teams

Deliverables

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with SAP SD ATP (Available-to-Promise)

• Deep understanding of SAP Sales & Distribution processes

• Experience with Backorder Processing and order fulfillment processes

• Ability to analyze and reverse engineer custom SAP developments

• Knowledge of user exits, enhancements, custom programs, and SAP configuration

• Experience in process optimization and supply chain execution environments

• Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills

• Experience working in complex international SAP landscapes

Nice to Have

• Experience with warehouse and logistics execution processes

• Knowledge of shipment planning and delivery processing

• Background in supply chain transformation or process excellence projects
