Contract: Initial 6-month contract with strong extension potential (12-24 months)

Project description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer (.NET / C# / Python) to join a team responsible for maintaining, improving and evolving a complex, business-critical software platform.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, improving system performance and taking ownership of a mature platform that requires continuous enhancement.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in an environment where every day brings different technical challenges. You'll be responsible for keeping systems stable, resolving production issues, improving performance and contributing to future enhancements.

Tasks:

• Maintain, support and continuously improve a complex software platform
• Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis and implement permanent solutions
• Optimise application performance, stability and reliability
• Develop new features and enhance existing functionality
• Work across application, database and integration layers
• Build and maintain APIs and system integrations
• Support CI/CD processes and deployment activities
• Produce clear technical documentation and share knowledge within the team
• Contribute ideas for improving architecture, automation and operational efficiency

Skills:

• Strong experience with C# / .NET
• Good Python development experience
• Node.js and JavaScript
• SQL Server and PostgreSQL
• Docker
• Apache ActiveMQ (or similar messaging technologies)
• GitHub and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience troubleshooting complex production environments
• Works independently and takes ownership
• Enjoys investigating problems and finding solutions without needing constant direction
• Has a proactive, hands-on mindset
• Likes improving existing systems rather than only building new ones
• Is comfortable working in an evolving environment where priorities can change
• Enjoys technical challenges and continuous improvement
