Trade & Compliance Specialist, The Hague

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in trade compliance, with expertise in rules and regulations, IT lifecycle, CDD/KYC/sanctions, and implementing IT and trade compliance. Additionally, you will have a good understanding of the line of defence. Experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred, but not required.

Your responsibilities:

• Develop and implement trade compliance policies and procedures in accordance with relevant laws and regulations
• Monitor and assess changes in international trade regulations and advise the company on compliance implications
• Oversee the implementation of IT and trade compliance processes across the organization
• Ensure compliance with CDD/KYC/sanctions requirements and maintain appropriate documentation
• Assist in internal and external audits related to trade compliance
• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of relevant regulations and industry trends
• Provide training and guidance to employees on trade compliance matters
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with external vendors and government agencies

Requirements:

• Located in The Netherlands (or willing to relocate to The Netherlands).
• A (Masters) degree in law or crime.
• Experience in trade compliance or a related field
• Familiarity with relevant regulations such as ITAR, EAR, OFAC, ECCN, BIS, C-TPAT, CTPAT, EU Dual-Use Regulation, EU Sanctions Regulation, and/or EU Customs Code
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Stakeholder management ability

Location: Hybrid (2/3 days a week in the office in The Hague)
Hourly rate: Negotiable
Project length: 6 months, option to extend
Start date: 1^st of May 2023
